Option 1 (Home Study): apply to BESE within 15 days of starting; renew annually by Oct 1. Option 2 (Nonpublic School): written notification within 10 days if child previously attended public school; annual attendance report to LDOE.
Annual Assessment
Option 1 (annual renewal): satisfactory standardized test scores, LEAP pass, certified-teacher curriculum verification, or portfolio. Option 2: none.

Teacher Qualifications
None required
Two paths: BESE-approved Home Study Program (more regulated) or Nonpublic School Not Seeking State Approval (less regulated). Home Study requires curriculum equal to public school plus Declaration of Independence (elementary) and Federalist Papers (high school).
